Facial Gua Sha
Taught by Ninetta Keenan
6 CE hours, $150
Traditional gua sha applied to the body has been used for centuries to increase circulation, decrease inflammation and promote overall wellness. Facial gua sha is a specialized type of gua sha that specifically targets conditions affecting the face, head and neck, and the tools used are smaller and lighter than traditional gua sha tools making them easier to use on delicate facial skin.
Used as a beauty treatment to stimulate circulation, move lymph and increase collagen production to minimize fine lines, wrinkles, puffiness and spots, facial gua sha is also used to treat health challenges such as TMJD, Bell’s Palsy, sinus conditions and more.
This class will focus on the proper techniques to improve the overall health of the face, head and neck, as well as exploring specific acupoints on the face and body to target conditions affecting the face, head and neck.
Students should bring their own non-porous facial gua sha tools made of metal or quartz, and an oil suitable for applying to the face such as jojoba, rosehip or squalane. Please note that tools made of metal or quartz can be properly disinfected and sanitized.
Prerequisite: Gua Sha Fundamentals.
