Comprehensive Review For Graduates

Taught by Christina Mihai and Steve Rogne

49 CEs for $1395

Classes meet monthly on Fridays from 9:00am-5:30pm (1.5 hour lunch), from July-December, with two classes in October.

Each class can be attended in-person or via Zoom. A recording will be made and provided with unlimited future access for all participants.

For years, graduates have been asking for a class that does an in-depth review of the main program. It’s finally here!!

In this seven-class series, Christina and Steve will review and refine every major technique from the entry-level training, including Hara assessment.

Course goals:

  • Really “get” all the techniques at a deeper level
  • Understand and utilize the potential for the techniques to create meaningful structural change
  • Review meridian locations and refine your ability to find them by feel
  • Improve your ability to do effective pain relief with shiatsu. Good technique = good results!
  • Master the tricky range-of-motion techniques that are the centerpiece of good shiatsu
  • Master the stabilization role of the mother hand, to help avoid injury to your clients
  • Solidify Hara assessment: remove any remaining doubts or fogginess about the basic kyo/jitsu reaction
  • Review the emergent healthy function: how to harmonize kyo/jitsu into one unified healing vibration

Course Outline:

Class 1: Prone Treatment

  • Back meridians
  • how to achieve true spinal elongation
  • sacrum and SI joint treatment
  • refining hip ROM and combining hip ROM with treatment

Class 2: Supine Legs

  • How to do the kind of hip ROM that provided meaningful pain relief
  • Yin leg stabilization – let’s “get it” once and for all, to help avoid hip and groin injury for our clients
  • Yang leg treatment – how to create space for the low back and hip

Class 3: Torso Day

  • Meridians of the abdomen and applications for digestion/elimination issues
  • Chest/Ribcage treatment, demystifying the process in supine
  • Working shoulders from overhead: how to facilitate free and easy scapula movement

Class 4: Hara Assessment

  • Solidifying angles and mechanics
  • Finding the kyo/jitsu resonance every time!
  • Harmonizing the kyo/jitsu resonance into a unified healthy vibration
  • Sharing out your findings with the client to deepen goal-setting

Sharing out your findings with the client to deepen goal-setting

  • Shoulder ROM in supine and sidelying – this is perhaps the most difficult technique in shiatsu but one of the most rewarding when done correctly
  • Using specific yang meridians in the shoulder to mobilize the scapula and get true freedom
  • Sidelying approaches to torso and hips. Shoulder relief requires working shoulders, ribs and hips!

Class 6: Arm Day

  • Yin arms sidelying and supine – how to open the shoulders and neck while treating the arms
  • Yang arms sidelying and supine – again, truly find how this treatment can engage the shoulders and neck

Class 7: Neck/Face/Head

  • This class will help you provide the best possible neck pain relief…one of the most necessary skills for client retention!
  • Review the big 3: Wave, Scoop, Figure 8. These seem simple but take a lot of refinement to do well.
  • Learn ideal mechanics for front, side and back of neck, to actually create space in the vertebrae
  • Review protocols and meridian locations for face and head

Schedule:

Fridays 9:00-5:30 (lunch from 12:30-2:00) – July 17, Aug 14, Sep 11, Oct 2, Oct 23, Nov 20, Dec 18

All classes can be attended in-person or by Zoom. The review course must be purchased as one whole commitment. If you can’t attend a given day, that’s ok! Recordings will be made of all classes and distributed to all participants.

Payable in one payment of $1395 or 6 payments of $232.50, July-December.
