Ethics in Practice: Power, Healing, & Cultural Responsibility for Bodyworkers

Taught by Yoli Maya Yeh
8 CEs, $240
Offered live by Zoom
This 8-hour ethics course supports bodyworkers and Shiatsu practitioners in deepening their ethical practice through an embodied framework rooted in awareness, regulation, relational skill, and applied decision-making.
Ethics in bodywork extends beyond professional rules into the lived dynamics of power, communication, culture, and nervous system safety within the practitioner-client relationship. This course introduces a Liberation Praxis-informed approach to ethics, where practitioners develop the capacity to recognize how personal bias, systemic inequities, and relational dynamics shape care, boundaries, and client experience.
Participants will engage a structured yet experiential learning process that moves through four interconnected domains:
● Ethical Awareness & Power Literacy – understanding how power and positionality influence practice
● Restoration & Trauma-Informed Care – cultivating safety, regulation, and responsible pacing in sessions
● Relational Communication & Cultural Responsiveness – strengthening skills for attunement, consent, and repair
● Integration & Ethical Decision-Making – applying ethical frameworks to complex, real-world scenarios
This class will be taught by Zoom.
Note: Classes attended by Zoom require that students keep cameras on.
