Ethics: Trauma-Informed Care for Survivors of Sexual Violence
Taught by Dana Christy
3CEs, $75, includes 1 hour Domestic Violence Awareness CE
This course explores the unique embodied, emotional, and energetic experiences of survivors of sexual assault, abuse, and domestic violence.
We discuss how to identify potential signs of sexual trauma in our clients and how to invite them into a healing experience that feels as safe and trigger-free as possible. We cover the unique physiological impacts of sexual violence and discuss how we as bodyworkers can help survivors metabolize trauma through their felt experience on the table.
We also explore how to make our healing spaces as safe as possible for all humans, whether they disclose sexual trauma to us or not.
This class includes 1 CE hour of Domestic Violence Awareness, per IL Dept of Professional Regulation requirements.
