This class explores how to create a treatment environment that supports an experience of safety for both practitioners and their clients.
We will explore the nuances of domestic violence, understand how to identify potential signs of these dynamics in our clients, and discuss tangible ways we can offer care to survivors.
We will learn how to identify sexual harassment in the workplace, and will share best practices for both prevention and intervention when these dynamics surface in the therapeutic relationship.
We will also explore the basics of safety measures such as:
- embodied consent
- client and practitioner rights and responsibilities
- client-driven treatment approaches
- nervous system regulation techniques.
This class covers ALL extra Illinois renewal requirements, including the 2 hours of Ethics.
