Marsha became interested in holistic approaches to health maintenance while majoring in social psychology and modern dance at Washington University. She continued her studies through the Loyola/ Columbia College Interdisciplinary Arts Masters in Education program, with a focus on creativity and personal growth through physical expression and body awareness. While teaching therapeutic dance to adolescent and elder groups, Marsha saw how her students benefited both physically and emotionally. Discovering the ideas and methods of traditional Asian health enhancement brought it all together “under one roof”. Marsha studied Shiatsu with Matt Sweigart, graduating from his expanded Ohashiatsu Chicago program.
Marsha is certified to teach Qigong through International Institute of Qigong and Tai Chi – taught by Roger Jahnke, author of The Healing promise of Qi and The Healer Within. She also studied Wai Dan Gong with Grace Chen, Medical Qigong with Catherine White, and is currently a student of Michael Rinaldini of The Qigong and Daoist Training Center.
Marsha co-founded Inner Gate Therapeutics in Evanston, and she practices at Zen Shiatsu Chicago as well.
