Abnormal Skin Growth Education Online Course

Due to delayed guidance from the IL Department of Professional Regulation to educational providers, this class unfortunately does not meet the IDFPR requirements for Abnormal Skin Growth Education, as the instructor is not an APN or MD.

While students are welcome to take the class for 1 general CE hour towards licensure renewal, it will not fulfill the Abnormal Skin Growth requirement.  That can be done via a free online class: The Skinny on Skin by Impact Melanoma, which is currently the only class approved by IDFPR.

All of our other courses do fulfill all necessary IDFPR requirements, including Domestic Violence Awareness, Sexual Harassment Prevention, and many general CE workshops

In this 1 CE hour course, you’ll learn how to recognize common signs of melanoma and other skin irregularities that may require medical attention.

Designed for massage therapists and bodyworkers, the training emphasizes scope-appropriate awareness, empowering you to notice changes on the skin and encourage clients to seek timely medical evaluation.

Rebecca Sturgeon is the co-author of Oncology Massage: An integrative approach to cancer care (Handspring, 2021.)

She has been practicing oncology massage for over a decade and has taught oncology massage around the country. As a former teacher of writing at the college level, Rebecca is passionate about effective communication and the subtle skills of building therapeutic connection through language.

She is an experienced mentor to new massage therapists and facilitator of contemplative movement practices.
